…and another day is gone…

I’m standing at the top of tomorrow.

The world is my oyster, nothing but plans to be made.

…and another day is gone…

I look toward the future with no end in sight!

Mortality, ha! I’ve got nothing…..but……………..time…

…and another day is gone…

I speed a little less; it takes so much time to get dressed.

I say, “I remember when,” this is now, but oh back then.

I’ll never think that way – those are parents’ thoughts,

I scold my kids, “Because I said so!”….what did I say???

…and another day is gone…

My ID is no longer checked for liquor,

Streaks of gray are taking over the blonde,

I look in the mirror and see not me, but my mom.

My body begins to ache, I move a bit slower now,

I’ve got to…ah…now I forget…I’m getting older, but how?

…and another day is gone…

I’ve never been a morning person, and yet, I rise at 5am

I’ve always been a night owl, and yet, bedtime is 9pm

…and another day is gone…

My eyeglasses are bi-focal, I must wear them when I drive.

I doze during West Wing and my grandkids wonder if I’m alive.

I’m not sleeping through the night – I toss and turn.

I love spicy food, but the mere thought makes my stomach burn.

…and another day is gone…

They offer me wine

I decline

A swig of Milk of Magnesia and I’ll be fine

I still go to plays but ask, “What did they say?”

I wear clothes for comfort, not to impress,

My arm is held as I descend the steps.

…and another day is gone…

My ankles are swollen…

My slip is showing…

There’s a pharmacy in my purse.

They took away my car keys,

My blue wig is crooked and I begin to curse,

Again my support hose have dropped to my knees.

…and another day is gone…

I find I sit now more than I stand.

The cold hurts my joints; I have arthritis in my hands.

I couldn’t walk a mile to beat the band.

So many friends have gone, and I desperately miss my Fred.

I wipe the tears from my eyes and fight this feeling of dread.

“C’mon, Neenah you PROMISED you’d read to me!”

I smile as my great granddaughter scrambles upon my knee

                                …and another day is dawning…

From Addiction to Baptism: Your Year End Gift Creates Miracles

Dear Friend,

Last Saturday, 64 neighbors joined us at Isaiah's – many recovering from addiction and rebuilding their lives in sober living homes. Two gave their lives to Christ and will be baptized soon! This is why your support matters.

Our Year-End Goals

$35,000 dollars needed to keep our ministry thriving through year-end.

Our Year-End Goals: $35,000 Total

We're raising funds for two critical needs:

1. General Operating Expenses: $15,000 To keep our ministry thriving through year-end:

  • Cover essential operating costs

  • Maintain daily programs and services

  • Respond to emergency assistance requests

  • Ensure no neighbor is turned away

2. Holiday Helping Hands Project: $20,000 To bring hope and practical help to 100+ families this holiday season:

  • Emergency utility assistance to prevent shutoffs

  • Food and groceries for holiday meals

  • Warm clothing and blankets for winter

  • Gifts for children who would otherwise go without

  • Rent assistance to prevent holiday evictions

Note: Corporate Sponsorships are welcome.

What We Do: Isaiah's provides essential discipleship and life services to our most vulnerable neighbors:

  • Weekly breakfast, Bible study, and lunch programs

  • Basic needs: showers, laundry, food pantry, furniture assistance

  • Life skills training and spiritual mentorship

  • Community service partner for Tulsa County

  • Monthly birthday celebrations with gifts and cake

Why Now? Since August, we've barely covered our bills. With no paid staff and hundreds of weekly requests for help, we're stretched thin. Recently, I accidentally missed a text from a mother needing help with her electric bill. When she asked why I "ghosted" her, I was heartbroken. We paid her bill immediately, but it showed me how overwhelmed we've become. The holidays bring even more urgent needs – and we want to say "yes" to every family in crisis.

How Your Gift Makes an Impact:

  • $50 provides a week of groceries for a family

  • $150 keeps the lights on for a neighbor facing shutoff

  • $350 sponsors a complete holiday blessing for one family

  • $500 helps a family avoid eviction

  • $1,000 covers a week of ministry operations

  • $2,500 transforms the holidays for 7 families

  • Any amount brings us closer to serving 100+ families

Ways to Give:

  • Give Today: Help us reach our $35,000 goal by December 31st

  • Designate Your Gift: Choose "General Operations" or "Holiday Helping Hands"

  • Monthly Support: Sustaining gifts provide stability into 2025

  • Connect Us: Introduce us to foundations or funders

  • Visit Us: Join our Homemade Holiday Fundraiser on November 9th, 2-6pm (see attached items available for purchase)

  • Share Our Story: Buy our book "Love Goes" on Amazon and leave a review

For 21 years, we've been the ministry that helps "when no other agency can." With your partnership, we can meet these critical needs and ensure 100+ families experience hope and practical love this holiday season.
