Founder / Executive Director

Isaiah 58:10-12 says, “If you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. The Lord will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame…Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.”

‘Streets with Dwellings.’ Everyone should have a place to live, everyone. Everyone should have reliable transportation to get to appointments, grocery store, work, church and school. Our goal is to be a part of making these two things a reality for those we love on.

I “retired” in July 2021. I now serve our neighbors full-time and pro-bono through Isaiah’s. I earned my Bachelor in Social Work degree from Meredith College and my Master in Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am a licensed and certified Social Worker in Oklahoma.

We have a home cooked meal, Bible study and prayer on Wednesday evenings beginning at 5pm. Every Sunday morning we pick up folks all over Tulsa and bring them to Isaiah’s to have breakfast and fellowship and live stream BattleCreek Church. We would love to pick you up and bring you to Isaiah’s with us!!

God first. Others second. Me last.

My life verse is Matthew 5:16, “In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” Another verse I love, and it is one I pray for my family always is, Mark 12:30-31, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.’”

The reason I serve with Isaiah 58, In His Service is that the purpose is clear, we are caring and loving God’s people in a way that is pleasing to the Lord. I have been with Isaiah 58, In His Service for about 5 years, I love serving with Deni and the team of wonderful volunteers that are always present.

I am the mother of three grown children, I have a wonderful marriage of 32 years, and I work full-time as a wellness coach/trainer. I love the opportunity to share health and wellness with those God puts in my path. It truly blesses me to help people as they seek to take care of their temple. I look forward to seeing how God is going to bless people through Isaiah 58, In His Service as we press on.

My life verse: 2 Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slow about His promises, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.”

I first heard the name Deni Fholer at the LOVE GOES Social Services conference. I signed up to receive the ministry’s email, updates/blog posts and over time I was moved but I would quench the Holy Spirit and go on about my life, which wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t as Christ focused as it should have been.

I was born into a military family that hasn’t yet realized the need for God. I met my forever husband on November 9, 1999 and we got married in 2003. We had both done some living and were ready to settle down and start a family, so we welcomed our son on January 01, 2004. Neither of us knew that our son would be born with a genetic birth defect that would bring us to our knees before God once we realized we wouldn’t be able to get through this without God setting our steps.

God has continually lifted up my family, dusted us off and set us back on the path He had chosen – even when we didn’t stay there very long.  This path has led to the partnership my family shares with Isaiah 58, In His Service. I continue to be amazed and overwhelmed by the way God works to bring people to Isaiah 58, In His Service and perfectly provide for them AND us.  We trust God to accomplish His will through this ministry and I am blessed to be a part of it. It also feels good that I no longer quench the Holy Spirit.

Life verse: James 5:16, “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous believer can accomplish much.”

I grew up in New England in a family that loved and supported me. My education and experience brought me to work in NYC, Boston, San Francisco, Miami and other cities but in spite of the outer trappings I was deeply entrenched in addiction and bi-polar behaviors. Everywhere I went, I destroyed relationships and was asked to leave.  I did not believe in God.  After numerous stints in jail, the loss of every job I ever had and 10 years of homelessness I was finally, at 46, desperate enough to accept help. God reached deep into me and brought out the man He created me to be.

Through the love of Jesus, Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Celebrate Recovery and doctors I rose and began to serve others. I’ve been married to my beautiful wife Deborah since 2011 and since being in Oklahoma I have worked and served at the Tulsa Center for Behavioral Health, the Claremore Veterans Center and have recently joined American Addiction Centers doing outreach in Tulsa and NE Oklahoma. I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve with Isaiah 58, In His Service, filling gaps and meeting needs and being the hands and feet of Jesus.

Life verse: Jeremiah 29:11-14, “For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,’ declares the Lord, ‘and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”

I grew up in San Diego but had to move to Florida to meet my husband, love of my life Tim. Tim and I moved to Oklahoma four years ago to be reunited with family. We enjoy doing outreach together, spending time with my parents and our kids, Josh and Nicole and grandkiddles, Jaxson and Makenzi.

After much prayer and encouragement, I was able to build my client base here in Oklahoma and Isaiah 58, In His Service has been a wonderful addition to my business. I just love Deni and her mission and I knew right when I met her I wanted to be a part of this ministry.  I’ve been through many trials in my life. I was on the wrong path and put myself in situations which opened me up to abuse, addiction and even homelessness. God has done a mighty work in me and I know He can do the same for anyone. Being a part of Isaiah 58, In His Service is one way I can share God’s love and His faithfulness with others.
